Hoe wisselkosten in het
buitenland vermijden?

Bij MeDirect willen we extra kosten voor onze klanten zoveel mogelijk vermijden. Daarom hoeft u enkel de volgende stappen te ondernemen om wisselkosten te voorkomen:

Open een zichtrekening in één van de vreemde valuta’s die MeDirect aanbiedt: USD, GBP, CHF en NOK. Deze zichtrekening koppelen we vervolgens aan uw MeDirect-debetkaart.

Zorg ervoor dat u het volledige bedrag van de transactie in vreemde valuta op de zichtrekening in dezelfde valuta hebt. Bij het betalen met uw MeDirect-debetkaart, selecteren we deze rekening automatisch.   

Let op: MeDirect rekent geen wisselkosten aan als u aan stap 1 en 2 voldoet, maar wijst wel op het volgende:

  1. Ontbreekt het volledige bedrag dat u wilt betalen op uw zichtrekening in vreemde valuta? Dan debiteren we uw zichtrekening in euro of (wanneer de euro-rekening ontoereikend is) de MeDirect-zichtrekening in vreemde valuta die voldoende saldo bevat en rekenen we 1,5% marge aan op de interbancaire wisselkoers.

  3. MeDirect kan niet vermijden dat andere tussenpartijen in het betalingsproces wel wisselkosten aanrekenen. Bijvoorbeeld wanneer u geld afhaalt bij een andere commerciële bank in het buitenland.

Ordering a MeDirect debit card is free and easy. Simply access your MeDirect app or your online banking platform and go to the “Cards” tab. Order your virtual or physical card within a minute.

How to block your MeDirect card?

Do you have the
MeDirect app?

To block your card, go to the “Cards” tab in the MeDirect app and click on the “Freeze” button located just under the image of your card.

Don’t have the app?

Log on to the secured website by clicking on the Login button on top of the MeDirect home page. Next, go to the “Cards” tab and click on the “Freeze” button.
