Maximum security, zero compromise
At MeDirect, your security is our top priority. We apply various measures to avoid possible errors and fraud.
Transfer limits that keep you safe — and in charge
- Default limit: €5,000 per day. This is our baseline to ensure your security.
- Need to make a larger transfer? Increase your limit up to €50,000 per day – instantly from the app or your online account.
- Prefer to play it safe? Reduce your limit just as easily, whenever you like.
- Want to transfer an exceptional amount? For amounts above €50,000, simply call our customer service team to set a temporary limit tailored to your needs.
These limits do not apply to transfers between your own MeDirect accounts.
Security limit for new beneficiaries
To ensure the security of your transfers, MeDirect applies a limit of €5,000 per day for transfers to new beneficiaries.
Who is a new beneficiary?
A beneficiary is considered new if:
- You have never sent them money before from your MeDirect account,
- Or if they are not registered in your list of beneficiaries.
After registration or the first transfer, the beneficiary will still be considered new for 24 hours.
How does the limit work?
- The €5,000 limit applies to all transfers made to new beneficiaries on the same day.
- Every day at midnight, the limit is reset.
Manage your limits in just a few clicks
App: click the 3 dots in the
bottom-right corner
Platform: go to the profile icon in the top-right corner
Go to your settings and select ‘Limit management’
Make your instant transfers even more secure
You can make your own choices directly from your app or personal platform. Go to your settings and choose the option that suits you best:
- By default, all your SEPA transfers will be instant.
- Don't like that? It's your choice, you can change it in just a few seconds.
- Want to set your own limit for your instant transfers? No problem: you have the choice to set a limit per day or per transaction for your instant transfers.
Beneficiary name verification:
extra security for your transfers
Before confirming a SEPA transfer, MeDirect automatically checks whether the beneficiary’s name matches the IBAN you have entered. This process, known as ‘beneficiary name verification’, does not require any action on your part.
How does it work?
-
There are three possible results:
- Exact match: the name entered corresponds to the beneficiary's name.
- Almost match: the name is similar. We will provide you with the exact registered name.
- No match: the name does not match. If you decide to proceed without making any changes, the transfer may be sent to the wrong beneficiary.
-
What should you do if you receive an error message?
You have two options:
- - Continue without making any changes: please note that the transfer may not reach the correct beneficiary.
- - Correct the name: you can adjust the information and confirm your transfer securely.
