Alain Moreau
Chief Executive Officer
Dear Client,
Investing should be accessible to everyone, without excessive fees.
That is why, starting today (1 July 2026), we are reducing the minimum fee for investing in equities from €7.00 to €2.50*. Lower fees mean greater potential returns for you. That’s how it should be.
In practical terms, if you invest €1,000 in equities through your MeDirect platform, you previously paid €7 in fees. Today, you pay only €2.50, making the cost almost three times lower. One of the most competitive rates on the market.
This decision is not an isolated initiative. On the contrary, it is part of a strategy we have consistently followed since our very first day on the Belgian market: removing the obstacles that hinder investing. Because investing should be encouraged, not discouraged.
A few examples? Last year, we eliminated transaction fees¹ on ETFs—permanently. You now pay €0 to invest in ETFs through your MeDirect platform. As for entry² and exit fees on mutual funds, they have already been abolished for quite some time.
With the reduction of our minimum fee on equities, we are taking another step today in our commitment to always do more for you.
Because the reality is simple: the fewer the barriers, the more opportunities Belgians have to put their money to work, without losing part of their potential returns to fees.
Best regards,
Alain Moreau
* Please note: the percentage fee remains at 0.15%.
¹ Excluding any applicable taxes. Investing always involves risks.
² MeDirect Bank SA does not charge any commission on the subscription of a mutual fund for its own benefit; however, taxes may apply on redemption. The holding of an investment fund generates charges levied by the fund and the remuneration of the services provided by MeDirect is paid by the subscribed fund through a partial retrocession of its management fee.
